RAPID Workplace Management Development (WMD) Programmes

We’ve taken all the knowledge of our senior team, blended it with our library of best practices, added in leading thinking on workplace management and embedded all of that in a computer based tool that enables a rapid assessment of the Real Estate and Facilities function against our vision for Workplace Management. The tool probes 10 capabilities and 244 practices that are needed to successfully manage the Advanced Workplace.

Using a highly interactive and intense process, the senior leaders of Real Estate and Facilities Management team work together to assess the effectiveness of the organisation and determine an action plan for the development of their capabilities and practices.

When to use Rapid WMD

AWA’s WMD process has a number of uses:

  • By an incoming Real Estate and Facilities Leader to gain a rapid understanding of the status of the organisation and to set programmes for development
  • As part of the annual strategic development cycle and as a team development mechanism.
  • As a means of auditing the capabilities of supply partners

AWA's Workplace Management Model

Workplace Management is the next evolution from Facilities Management and it places emphasis on the maintenance and management of all resources to provide an effective experience for building users whilst maximising the utilisation of workplace assets.

It recognises an increasingly chaotic world in which staff need to be at maximum effectiveness, cross functional team working is key, product cycles are shrinking and organisations need to be able to turn on a sixpence. The 10 capabilities in our model provide an aiming point for forward looking leaders of Real Estate and Facilities Management functions.

Our process enables a rapid assessment of the Real Estate and Facilities function against AWA’s Workplace management Model.

Day 1: Workplace Management Development Workshop, weighting and self assessment

Day 2: Self Assessment by the team

Day 3: AWA validation

Day 4: Results presented and discussed and work on actions needed

Day 5: Action planning and programme development
