About the Index

You can now access the findings of our second data set to be submitted as part of our Hybrid Working Index, conducted between September and November 2022. The widely reported and industry recognized Index is a quarterly data review to track the development of hybrid working strategies and office rate attendance over time across the world.

The second submission of our global study of 220 offices in 33 countries, representing nearly 250,000 employees, has revealed that hybrid working is becoming established as the norm, with people now coming into the office an average of just 1.5 days a week, versus nearly four days a week before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Each panel organization that takes part in our Index completes a short survey detailing for each of their locations the hybrid policies being applied, the total number of employees and desks in each building, and the number of people using the office each day in a typical week.

This information has allowed us to create a detailed picture of hybrid working policy and office use across multiple sectors and geographies.  The headline findings, along with comparison between sectors and geographies, are presented in this second report.  The Index is conducted quarterly, so data can be reviewed and compared over time.
