Podcast summary

Covid has prompted many of us to question what we’re doing with our lives – and what we’re doing at work. Many are asking whether they and their organization have a clear purpose – and not getting a clear, satisfactory answer. Charities have potentially had the upper hand here – the desire to do good in the world has given them an advantage in recruiting employees who feel passionately about their cause, or who are drawn to the non profit sector in general.

But what now – when commercial organizations are catching up and getting clearer about their purpose, while at the same time, it’s becoming more ‘expensive’ to ally yourself with an organization that doesn’t pay as well as the alternatives. Can charities still rely on purpose to sustain them in the new hybrid world?

Featured guests:

  • Brad Taylor, Senior Associate, AWA
  • Fiona Condron, Audit Partner – Not for Profit, BDO
  • Liz Cotter Schlax, President & CEO, United Way of Southern  Maine
