Report Summary

The report was supported by Workplace Evolutionaries as part of a collaborative effort between AWA, Global Workplace Analytics and Haworth Inc. Together, we collated data from more than 130 organizations, totalling 2.3 million employees around the world. The results were compared to longitudinal data collected across the four surveys fielded since 2008.

Some of the most significant insights include:

  • The worry over a loss in productivity when people are able to work anywhere is entirely unfounded.
  • Internal mobility has more than doubled since 2008. Meanwhile external mobility (e.g. working at home, in co-working places and outside the office) has remained the same.
  • Nearly half of employees are still permanently assigned to one space; no change since 2008.
  • Employee involvement in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of workplace change programs has decreased significantly.
