Podcast summary

There’s no shortage of advice available for organisations trying to determine their hybrid working arrangements. However, real life experience that’s tried and tested, should never be overlooked.

In this episode, host Karen Plum speaks to workplace change experts, British Heart Foundation’s (BHF’s) Sarah Cousins and AWA’s Philippa Hale about the key ingredients to developing a successful and effective workplace change strategy.

Sarah reflects on her own experience of leading the development of BHF’s ‘Flexibly Connected’ programme (BHF’s transition to hybrid working) at the height of the pandemic in 2020. Sarah continues to lead the organisation’s change effort and has a wealth of experience in delivering workplace transformation.

With her extensive knowledge of people management and learning and development policy and process, Philippa discusses the integral and practical role of an organisation’s leadership to steer change, and the power of implementing internal ‘working together agreements’ to create cohesive hybrid teams.

But where should organisation’s start to get an effective hybrid change programme off the ground? And what are AWA’s recommended six factors to consider to drive creativity and productivity within hybrid teams?

Featured guests:

Sarah Cousins, Head of Organisational Change, British Heart Foundation (UK)

Philippa Hale, Senior Associate and workplace change leader, AWA (UK)
